What is A Wizdog?

So just what is a Wizdog?
Wizdog is a home toilet or indoor dog potty station designed specifically for dogs. It consists of two pieces – a pan and a fitted grate, both made out of industrial grade, durable and easy to clean plastic. The grate fits snuggly into the pan. So dogs step onto the grate and do their business. The liquid waste drains immediately through the grate down into the pan, which can be lined with newspaper or a pee pad. The grate has a specially designed grid that keeps the dog’s paws away from the liquid. Solid waste remains on top and with a flip of the grate it gets dropped down into the pan as well. The pan keeps all the waste contained, which means it won’t end up on your floors.
Why use a Wizdog?
The Wizdog concept improves on the current house training products such as litter boxes and pee pads. First Wizdog solves two of the most common indoor dog mess issues: 1) soiled and stained carpets and floors (accidents) and 2) wet paws tracks throughout the house. And second it does not require any litter or litter refills, which can leave their own mess. It offers a much more sustainable solution to dealing with dog potty issues.
Who was Wizdog designed for?
The Wizdog weighs approx. 3 lbs. and measures 21″ X 28″. Each grid cell of the fitted grate measures about 5/8″ square and 1/2″ deep. The Wizdog pan will fit most newspapers and pee pads. The Wizdog is made of non-toxic polystyrene, and the tray has a smooth glossy finish to facilitate cleanup.Wizdog is designed for small and medium-sized breeds and therefore is a bit narrow for larger dogs. The Wizdog can support dogs weighing up to 200 lbs. And the Wizdog is used successfully for large dogs by putting two Wizdogs side by side. Just join the two by saddling newspaper or a training pad on the sides that touch. This successfully creates one large surface that will still be effective at catching the waste, while keeping your floor and dog’s paws clean and dry.
The Wizdog is a great option for just about any dog potty training situation. It can be used for puppy training, house breaking older dogs, dogs living in apartments, an option in cold weather, and of course for those occasions when you just can’t get home in time and Fido just can’t hold it any longer. The Wizdog works well in all of these situations. I have successfully used Wizdog with two pugs, it took them about 10 days to get the hang of it. I also had an incident of the puppy chewing on the corner of the grate and Wizdog sent me a replacement one, no questions asked. How happy was I? Very and now I give the Wizdog to all my friends that have dogs. One of my favorite success stories is about Lupe the Wonder Dog. She was a rescued mutt from Tuscon, AZ. The dog had all kinds of behavioral issues and she was prone to accidents despite all efforts. We were able to get her trained to use a Wizdog in 2 weeks. The quality of her life and her owners were vastly improved, they are both so much happier. Wizdog can solve some challenging problems for dogs and their owners, and in doing so improve everyones quality of life.
If you find yourself facing any of these dog training / house breaking issues, then I strongly suggest checking out the Wizdog website - watch a demo of the product and sign up for some free dog training tips.

Wizdog does work wonders – but it is not the only indoor dog potty option in town. Choosing the right dog litter box really does influence how quickly and successful you can train you dog to use it. Check out some more dog litter box product reviews and resources.
